Dr. Maksym Vasin presented his new research on Russian war crimes in Ukraine at the IRF Summit 2023 in Washington, D.C.
In 2019, Maksym Vasin, as a member of the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations delegation, visited Jerusalem and met with the President of Israel, Reuven Rivlin, and other officials.
In 2018, Max Vasin shared his experience with participants of the Alliance Defending Freedom Summit on Religious Liberty in Georgia, USA.
In 2015, Max Vasin was invited by ODIHR to present at the OSCE Conference in Vienna, Austria.
Since 2008 Max Vasin leads the research and advocacy projects at the Institute for Religious Freedom based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Meet Max
Dr. Maksym Vasin has specialized in human rights and international religious freedom since 2001. His academic publications related the topics of documenting war crimes against faith-based communities, protecting human rights and religious freedom through legislation, facilitating church-state cooperation, promoting peace-building through interfaith dialogue, etc.
Since 2008 he leads the research and advocacy projects at the Institute for Religious Freedom (Ukraine) in the position of Executive Director. He is a co-author of several dozen bills and amendments to laws aimed at protecting and developing religious freedom.
